About Us

Responsible Gaming Information Centres (RGIC) are located on-site at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Windsor in Ontario, providing information to patrons and casino staff. The Information Centres are managed and staffed by the Responsible Gambling Council, a non-profit organization that undertakes public awareness programs and research to prevent gambling-related problems. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation provides funding, space and support for the Responsible Gaming Information Centres.

The Responsible Gaming Information Centres have three main objectives:

  1. To provide assistance, support and referral for individuals who are concerned about their gambling, or the gambling of someone close to them.

The Centres do not provide counseling services, but rather act as a bridge to problem-gambling or financial counseling or support groups for those who request it. Ontario has a comprehensive network of problem gambling treatment agencies. The Centres will work closely with community agencies and casino staff to ensure that anyone needing assistance will get connected with the appropriate help in a timely manner.

There will be no charge for any RGlC service and all information is confidential.

  2. To develop and implement a range of awareness programs designed to reduce the risk of gambling-related problems

Both the Responsible Gambling Council and the RGIC delivers a wide range of innovative and interactive awareness program designed to inform people about:

    • the risks of gambling and how to avoid them
    • the realistic chances of winning and losing
    • where to get help for a gambling problem

  3. To support casino staff in their response to patrons who may have a gambling problem.
